One man was electrocuted while he was working in the woods, while another, a 29-year-old Italian who was working with him, was electrocuted in a less serious way, in the legs, and taken to hospital in Gravedona. Everything happened shortly after 11 in Domaso, in the locality of Gaggio, in the Como area.
The deceased man would have an apparent age of around 70 years.
From what the rescuers could see, the victim and the 29-year-old were working with a generator, but the dynamics of the accident are being investigated. Helicopter rescue, auto-medical, ambulance, CNSAS, firefighters and carabinieri intervened on the spot.
The accident occurred in an inaccessible area, reachable only on foot. According to initial information, the 70-year-old had gone up to make wood in the woods and would have been electrocuted near a cableway used to carry the wood downstream.
