Afghanistan: the day after

2021-08-13T04:14:48.892Z

DECRYPTION - On August 31, the last American soldiers will have left Afghanistan. A departure that opens a boulevard to the Taliban and leaves room for new players, foremost among which are China and Turkey.

Under the agreement negotiated by the Trump administration in 2020, the 9,600 military members of the international coalition (including 2,500 GIs) will leave the country on August 31.
