The trumpet market, it seems, is at an all-time high, and this year, due to the Corona virus, online sales are skyrocketing.
EBay reports a 35 percent jump in sales of Rosh Hashanah-related products over the past year, noting that since 2021, more than 2,000 trumpets have been sold at an average price of about $ 90 per unit.
Unlike other areas, shofars are a hot export area from Israel, and the opportunity is not missed in Israel.
Most of the trumpet sales are from Israel to the rest of the world with the top destinations being of course the US, UK and Australia, but also a country like Puerto Rico.
The most expensive mouthpiece, eBay notes, is a Yemeni mouthpiece that sold for no less than $ 1,400 - an amount worth about NIS 4,467.
Another shofar bearing the image of the Lubavitcher Rebbe was sold for $ 499 - NIS 1,599.
A third mouthpiece, sold for the same amount, was beautifully decorated with pomegranates.
There is no doubt that whoever buys this mouthpiece will get intrigued looks.

But what about slightly more reasonable prices, you ask?
Well, there are plenty of them too.
There are quite a few shofars that are sold for a few tens and hundreds of shekels.
For example, a short Yemeni shofar is sold for NIS 147, and an Ashkenazi shofar for NIS 176.
An intriguing item is actually the smallest mouthpiece found for sale on the sales site.
This is a shofar that is only about 11 cm long, and is sold at a price of 41 shekels.
