A study by the Department of Energy indicates that the sun could generate up to 40% of the energy needed in the United States by 2035. The report adds that the energy transition would create about 1.5 million new jobs, without increasing electricity costs for consumers.
According to the study, the United States would have to quadruple its solar capacity each year until 2035.
