The social networking company Facebook has launched two new versions of its video calling devices, PortaGo and Portal Plus.
According to the company's website, both devices are distinguished by their ability to protect user privacy by adding a screen lock with a special passcode, in addition to containing controls to disable the microphone and use the built-in lens cover to physically block the camera if the user wishes to do so.
The company indicated that the new devices will also have a new home mode feature, which allows the owner to set the various applications and contacts that can be accessed by anyone who wants to use the portal, in addition to specifying what should be out of the reach of group use.
And Facebook announced a number of updates to the “Portal” experience in addition to the new devices, including its confirmation that it will start supporting the Microsoft “Times” application as of next December.
