Germering - The first reading evening of the Germering Women's Initiative (GeFI) after the lockdown was an anniversary event, so to speak, and took place in the Germering city library.

It was the 250th reading evening. The equal opportunities officer of the city of Germering, Renate Konrad, did not miss this occasion to congratulate Brigitte Breidenbach with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the reading evening team. Breidenbach, Sieglinde Clauss and Rose Wilkens have been enriching the cultural landscape in Germering on the last Wednesday of the month for reading for over 25 years; always supported by the library manager, Christine Förster-Grüber. Urte Langer, former team member and former head of the GeFI writing workshop, denied the evening with a reading. Likewise, in the old tradition, the listeners had their say with book presentations that were well worth reading. Among them were the series by Karsten Dusse with his three volumes from "Achtsam Morden", Robert Seethaler with "A Whole Life",the novel “The Song of the Crayfish” by Delia Owens and Lena Görelik's autobiographical book “Who we are”.

So that the reading evening can continue in the future, the organization team is hoping for reinforcements.

We are looking for women who have the desire and time to actively help shape the reading evening.

The next reading evening will take place on Wednesday, October 27th, at 7.30 p.m.
