More than 80% of citizens have been vaccinated against the virus, but morbidity figures in the country in recent days are not encouraging.

Corona

outbreak

in Singapore: In the

past day, 3,703 new verified people have been diagnosed in the country - a record since the beginning of the epidemic, Reuters reported.

11 more patients died.

Since last August, there has been an increase in morbidity in the country, which began with dozens of diagnoses daily, continued to more than 1,000 a day during September and since the beginning of the month the graph has only been climbing.

All this while 80% of Singapore's 5.54 million people have been vaccinated against the corona virus.

It has also been reported that almost all newly diagnosed in recent days are asymptomatic or patients with a mild condition.

Prime Minister Lee Sheinlong said the state would be able to reach a routine and reduce the restrictions recently imposed with the stabilization of morbidity.

"It will take us at least three months, and maybe even six months, to get there," he said.

"We may see future leaps, especially if new strains of corona appear. We may have to put the brakes on again if morbidity rises, to protect the health care system and health care workers."

At the same time, the government has agreed to tighten restrictions on the unvaccinated starting Wednesday, so it will prevent them from entering malls and restaurants.

Concurrent with the rise in morbidity, earlier today Reuters reported that Singapore had decided to open borders to vaccinated passengers from eight countries, including Britain, France, Spain and the United States - starting October 19.
