The 6th Legislative Council has just concluded, experiencing major events such as anti-amendment legislation, postponement of elections, and electoral reforms. The New Democrat Party member Rong Haien reviewed the five-year parliament road in an exclusive interview with "Hong Kong 01". Perhaps the most memorable one is During the anti-revision period, she gave birth to a daughter. Under the current social environment, she can only do a good job by example, and she does not want her family's position to influence others' views of her.

He joined the New Democratic Party six years ago and soon joined the Legislative Council. Rong Haien thanked the party chairman Ye Liu Shuyi for her support and tolerance. "Thank you, thank you, and thank you again." He hopes to continue to follow Ye Tai, no matter what the other party’s future elections or the party’s developments, Hope to continue to follow.

Rong Haien believes that the parliament has allowed soft violence subtly for many years, and the opposition "gets more and more aggressive," which led to the destruction of the parliament and the situation became uncontrollable.

Looking for parliament to return to rationality under the new system

Rong Haien ran for the Legislative Council for the first time in 2016. At that time, he hoped to repair the social tears. Unexpectedly, the oath wave occurred at the beginning of the session.

Rong Haien said that the parliament has allowed "soft violence" subtly for many years, and the opposition "increased and radicalized", which led to the destruction of the parliament and the situation became uncontrollable. He believed that this highlights the lack of loopholes in the National Security Law and Article 23 in Hong Kong. Fortunately, the central government took action to solve the problem.

For Jung Haien, the life of a parliamentarian was divided between the opposition’s departure from the parliament: before the opposition left, the parliament often harassed and lashed out, binding regional issues to politics; after the resignation of the Pan People’s General Assembly, the parliament returned to calm, but 40 remained. Many members have to share all the work, the number of bills cleared by customs has increased, and there has been no decrease in regional demands.

Rong Haien believes that in order to correct the chaos in the parliament, the election must be started. Therefore, the most appropriate approach is to suspend the election after the implementation of the National Security Law last year and the epidemic situation has not improved, and to extend the legislative council for more than a year.

She believes that "patriots ruling Hong Kong" can enable the parliament to resume rational discussions and really make use of the issues. Members can do a good job in policy research and provide constructive opinions to the government.

Rong Haien said that in the past few years, she felt that the government responded slowly and turned a blind eye.

Dissatisfied with the government's procrastination

Rong Haien believes that the role of parliament is to monitor the governance of the government and promote policies. Members should serve as a bridge between the public and the government. However, in the past few years, she has felt that the government has been slow to respond to members and turned a blind eye.

For example, she pointed out that the New Democracy Party proposed to introduce consumer vouchers early last year. The government rejected it on the grounds of implementation difficulties, but this year it successfully launched electronic consumer vouchers. She believed that the government should have studied and considered seriously; the sharing economy prevailed a few years ago, such as renting. However, the policy bureaus were unwilling to participate. "Put the wave away." No one talked about the emerging economy, and nothing went on. Afterwards, many shared bicycle companies closed down, and the authorities have not yet started. Research; and the smart parking lot that has been advocating for many years has only recently gotten better, but the authorities insisted not to add a new smart design to the nine-story parking lot in the North District under construction, and only acted on the old recommendations approved by the District Council.

"Now we talk about smart government and smart travel, but the government's head has not been turned." Rong Haien pointed out that the government wants to change its governance style and attitude, and also hopes that the accountability secretary will be more forward-looking, without having to ask the chief executive. Pay attention to the needs of the public and formulate policies.

Rong Haien gave birth to a daughter during the social movement, and the decision to give birth was not easy.

It is not easy to give birth during the anti-regulation period

Rong Haien said that her parliamentary experience has made her grow up a lot. From not understanding parliamentary culture at the beginning, to facing the various changes that have been torn apart by family and friends in society, "Everyone is torn apart to a point and put political views on family relations. It always affects the mood.” However, she emphasized that she hoped that the outside world would understand her starting point, and should not influence her perception of her due to the position of her family, and reiterate that she is politically clear-cut.

As a new mother, Rong Haien pointed out that the decision to give birth to two daughters was not easy. In the social environment, he can only teach by example. He also pays more attention to education issues in the Parliament. Send a letter.

She does not deny that she agrees that the revocation of the teacher's license will help stop the "black sheep".

As a dual-working mother, Rong Haien said frankly that time allocation is difficult and requires choices, but he does not consider it a sacrifice, because social work is a part of her life, and she hopes that her daughter will understand and participate in the future, and that parliamentary work can complement the work of a barrister. .

Rong Haien thanked the party chairman Ye Liu Shuyi for her support and tolerance.

Hope to continue to follow Ye Tai

You have joined the New Democratic Party for more than five years. What do you want to say to Mrs. Ye today?

"It's all thanks, thank you, and thank you." Rong Haien said, thank Ye Liu for her support and tolerance, and taught her a lot. Regardless of her life, attitude, parliamentary knowledge, dealing with the government, or even educating children, she hopes to continue to learn from Ye Tai .

She described the election controversy within the New Democrats last year as "healthy", which allowed the public to understand the character of the New Democrats and hope to continue to follow Ye Tai. No matter what the future development of the election or the party, Ye Tai hopes to continue to help.

She also thanked Pan Guoshan, the veteran of Civic Forces, and the brothers for their help.

The New Democrats have not announced the list of candidates for the Legislative Council. It is rumored that Ye Liu Shuyi will continue to run for the election, and Rong Haien has the opportunity to transfer to the electoral committee.
