Looking for parliament to return to rationality under the new system
Rong Haien ran for the Legislative Council for the first time in 2016. At that time, he hoped to repair the social tears. Unexpectedly, the oath wave occurred at the beginning of the session.
Rong Haien said that the parliament has allowed "soft violence" subtly for many years, and the opposition "increased and radicalized", which led to the destruction of the parliament and the situation became uncontrollable. He believed that this highlights the lack of loopholes in the National Security Law and Article 23 in Hong Kong. Fortunately, the central government took action to solve the problem.
For Jung Haien, the life of a parliamentarian was divided between the opposition’s departure from the parliament: before the opposition left, the parliament often harassed and lashed out, binding regional issues to politics; after the resignation of the Pan People’s General Assembly, the parliament returned to calm, but 40 remained. Many members have to share all the work, the number of bills cleared by customs has increased, and there has been no decrease in regional demands.
Rong Haien believes that in order to correct the chaos in the parliament, the election must be started. Therefore, the most appropriate approach is to suspend the election after the implementation of the National Security Law last year and the epidemic situation has not improved, and to extend the legislative council for more than a year.
She believes that "patriots ruling Hong Kong" can enable the parliament to resume rational discussions and really make use of the issues. Members can do a good job in policy research and provide constructive opinions to the government.

Dissatisfied with the government's procrastination

For example, she pointed out that the New Democracy Party proposed to introduce consumer vouchers early last year. She believed that the government should have studied and considered seriously; the sharing economy prevailed a few years ago, such as renting. However, the policy bureaus were unwilling to participate. "Put the wave away." No one talked about the emerging economy, and nothing went on. Afterwards, many shared bicycle companies closed down, and the authorities have not yet started. Research; and the smart parking lot that has been advocating for many years has only recently gotten better, but the authorities insisted not to add a new smart design to the nine-story parking lot in the North District under construction, and only acted on the old recommendations approved by the District Council.
"Now we talk about smart government and smart travel, but the government's head has not been turned." Rong Haien pointed out that the government wants to change its governance style and attitude, and also hopes that the accountability secretary will be more forward-looking, without having to ask the chief executive.
