Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman today (Sunday) issued a memorandum of law according to which the tax benefit for residents of the Gaza Envelope settlements will be extended for another four years.
"I see paramount importance in extending the temporary provision for the benefit of the tax to the residents of the Gaza Envelope settlements for another four years," said Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
"I thank MK Nira Shefek for her request to extend the temporary order for four consecutive years, which will allow the economic resilience of the residents of the Envelope who are at the forefront of the southern line to continue to be strengthened."

The Temporary Provision stipulates that a person who was a resident of a southern conflict line area for the entire tax year is entitled in that year to a tax credit of 20% of his taxable personal income, up to an income ceiling of NIS 241,080.
A "southern line of confrontation" includes, for this purpose, the localities whose homes, in whole or in part, are located up to 7 kilometers from the fence of the system that surrounds the Gaza Strip.
The last-hour provision was extended in 2017 and is expected to expire at the end of 2021, and therefore the Minister is requesting an extension for another four years.
The cost of the benefit is estimated at NIS 90 million per year.
