Against the background of the military coup in Sudan: An Israeli delegation visited the country
Senior Israeli officials said the delegation apparently included representatives from the Mossad, and its members had met in recent days with officials in the Sudanese army.
Since the coup, Israel has maintained silence and has not publicly condemned it as countries in the West.
This silence creates a sense in Sudan that Israel supports a coup

An Israeli delegation has visited Sudan in recent days to get an impression of the internal situation following the military coup that took place in the country last week, senior Israeli officials said.
The delegation, which apparently included representatives of the Mossad, met mainly with officials in the Sudanese army.
A Western diplomat noted that one of the people with whom the Israeli delegation met was General Abdel Rahim Daglo.
The latter is a senior member of Sudan's largest military militia - the Aid Force - which took part in the military coup.
A few weeks before the coup, Douglo visited Israel with a Sudanese military delegation that met with senior members of the National Security Staff and other officials at the Prime Minister's Office in Tel Aviv.

Senior Israeli officials noted that during the same visit, representatives of the Sudanese army reviewed the political crisis in the country but said nothing about their intention to carry out a military coup.
Unlike other Western countries that condemned the military coup in Sudan, the Israeli government remained silent and did not say anything publicly on the issue.
The silence in Jerusalem creates a feeling in Sudan that Israel supports the military coup.

The process of normalization vis-à-vis Sudan has been conducted in the last two years mainly by the National Security Headquarters in the Prime Minister's Office.
The vast majority of normalization talks were with Sudanese army chief General Burhan and his men - who carried out the coup.
