At about 6 pm today (11th), the police and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department conducted a joint operation and found that 5 men and 3 women, aged between 49 and 76, were singing and gathering at the above site, or did not wear suitable masks, suspected of violating the "Prevention And the Control of Diseases (Prohibition of Group Gathering) Regulations (Chapter 599G) and the Prevention and Control of Diseases (Mask Wearing) Regulations (Chapter 599I), officers issued fixed penalty notices to them.


The police appealed to the public to strictly abide by the relevant laws of the "Prevention and Control of Disease Regulations", take preventive measures, minimize social activities and avoid crowded places, so as to reduce the risk of the spread of the virus in the community.

In addition, the noise generated by various activities in public places, such as singing and playing music or using loudspeakers, is regulated by the Noise Control Ordinance, Chapter 400 of the Laws of Hong Kong.

It is illegal for anyone to use loudspeakers to make noise in a public place and constitute a nuisance.
