The Israeli-American community's annual conference kicks off • The organization's CEO: "There are debates about the future, but it is clear that this is a common future"

The annual conference of the Israel-American Community Organization (IAC) kicked off yesterday in Florida, USA, under the slogan "Israel.

together."

The conference is an important show of strength, as this is the first time that a major event of a Jewish-American organization has returned to a non-virtual format since the outbreak of the corona plague.

However, special measures will be taken to prevent infection, including by creating “hybrid” events that include testing, and outdoor events.

About 2,800 people are expected to attend the event at the Diplomat Beach Resort, including well-known figures from the American and Israeli public.

The opening session is expected to include a conversation between the editor of "Israel Today" Boaz Bismuth and MK Nir Barkat of the Likud, and a conversation between the commentator and presenter Yoav Limor and the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Gilad Ardan.

The organizers hope that the conference will be another opportunity to position Israel as a unifying factor in the Jewish community, and to give secondary validity to the fact that Israelis living in the United States are a "living bridge" to the state.

The conference will host panels on various topics, including the issue of the boycott of Israel in the United States, anti-Israel content in the American education system, the unity of the Jewish people and the State of Israel, and the Iranian nuclear threat.

Among the speakers at the conference will be Defense Secretary Gantz, Ambassador Arden, Israeli Consul to New York Assaf Zamir, and key figures in the United States such as Member of the US House of Representatives Richie Torres and Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey.

Minister of Defense Communications

The organization's general manager, Nicolas, who spoke with Israel Today ahead of the conference, said that Israelis living in the United States are no longer just former Israelis watching from the sidelines.

According to him, they are an integral part of the public life of North American Jewry, and an example of this is the organization's leadership during Operation Wall Guard.

"This is a common future"

"It's no secret, probably in the last two years (of the Corona), that there is a continued retreat in Jewish-American communities from affiliation with Israel, and the IAC is filling that gap in some places," Nicolas said.

"On the one hand, our conference encourages discussions as well as debates about what should be done today and what the future should look like, but it is clear that this is a common future. The common denominator is that everyone loves Israel."
