Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Majid Takht Ravanchi affirmed his country's determination to continue its efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations within the framework of its international obligations.
Fars news agency reported that Takht Ravanchi warned during a meeting of the UN Security Council on "security in the context of terrorism and climate change" today against attempts by some council members to link in any way between climate change and international peace and security.
Takht Ravanchi pointed out that the international community is facing urgent challenges related to terrorism and climate change, indicating that the fight against terrorism must be carried out within the framework of the United Nations resolution and international rights with confidence in full observance of the principles of independence and sovereign equality of governments and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.
