A couple from Roubaix who made and sold inoperative health passes for 100 euros each on Snapchat was sentenced Friday to six months' suspended imprisonment by the Lille criminal court.
The investigators had traced back to Nathalie D. and Mohammed M. thanks to the IP address of their computer and the Lydia and Paypal accounts they used for this scam, which trapped 27 buyers and brought them back 5,800 euros - confiscated since.

Mohammed M. explained at the bar that he was content to “
color the boxes
” of his QR code.
This man with no criminal record then sold the new code made inoperative on an account in the Snapchat application.
“
I just changed my pass to be invalid.
The person who receives it can do absolutely nothing
, ”he stressed.
"Pigeon-holed" buyers
During the trial, suspicions of intrusion into the Health Insurance system to manufacture functional passes, which would have required the complicity of a practitioner, were swept aside. Prosecuted for "
entering data into an automated processing system
", the couple was released on this count. "
I have no technical, logistical or medical knowledge to ensure that these people can have a valid pass
", defended Mohammed M.
The couple admitted to having “
pigeon-holed
” their buyers, and sometimes did not even send the doctored document after receiving the money.
Calling for "
a warning sentence
", the prosecutor had requested against the couple 8 months of suspended imprisonment and the confiscation of 5,800 euros from the sale of documents.
