"The Voice of Germany" finals: Curious cleaning blunder live on TV ensures "TV moment of the year"

In the finale of “The Voice of Germany” there was a curious television moment.

Also there: mops, a confused presenter and lots of laughter.

Munich - Five teams fight for victory in the final of the talent show from "The Voice of Germany" *.

Gugu Zulu, Katarina Mihaljević, Linda Elsener, Sebastian Krenz and the couple Charlene and Florian Gallant are still there.

The special thing about the finals: The participants perform a song together with a star guest.

Singer Birdy will also appear with her new song "I only want to be with you".

She stands in for a mega-star who unfortunately couldn't come to Berlin because of a corona infection in his team *.

There was a curious moment in the middle of the show.

Laughter was the result.

Especially the moderator Lena Gercke was amused by the mistake.

Finalist Sebastian Krenz (Team Johannes) had just performed a song with star guest James Arthur.

Then the two chatted with Lena Gercke on stage about their collaboration over the past few weeks.

Suddenly, two employees could be seen walking through the picture with mops and obviously cleaning the stage floor.

They didn't seem to have noticed that they were being seen live on TV.

Moderator Lena Gercke reacted confused at first, but quickly recovered and took the mistake with humor.

“I thought for a moment, we were with the hidden camera,” jokes the 33-year-old.

“It should be clean”, the former GNTM winner makes fun of the situation: “I had the feeling that I had to step aside for a moment.” Laughter also came from the audience.

"That was the television moment of the year," said star guest James Arthur with certainty.

Finalist Sebastian Krenz also joined the joke.

"Come back, there's something else here," he said, pointing to the floor in front of him.

After the subsequent appearance of finalist Gugu Zulu and star guest Calum Scott, presenter Steven Gätjen also made fun of the previous mistake with jury members Mark Forster and Nico Santos.

Without further ado, the three of them took over the cleaning command themselves. They cleaned clean together with mops.

In doing so, they made sure that the "whole mess" ended up with jury member Johannes, which in turn created a cheerful mood in the audience.
