The exhibition, which was held at George Kamel Gallery, included more than 50 selected works from important periods in the history of contemporary Syrian plastic art, by a selection of artists who made their mark in this field.
The paintings of the exhibition, which was held within the days of plastic art, varied with the diversity of the artists’ styles and techniques, who formed schools for the generations that came after them.
Among the artists whose paintings were chosen is Adham Ismail, who expressed in most of his works the aesthetic sense through works that embodied the earth, movement, nature, flower and woman, Nazir Nabaa, who is considered one of the most important figures of plastic art in the Arab world, and Elias Zayat is one of the first founders of the College of Fine Arts, and Michel Karsha is one of the first pioneers of the school Impressionism, who excelled in drawing paintings of Damascus and its neighborhoods.
She also attended paintings by the pioneering female artist, Laila Nasir, the Palestinian artist Mustafa al-Hallaj, Fateh al-Modarres, one of the leaders of the plastic movement, Marwan Qassab Bachi, Mamdouh Qashlan, Abd al-Manan Shamma, Ghassan Nana`, Nasir Shura and Edward Shahda.
And the artist Shahda said in a statement to SANA reporter that the exhibition represents a stage in the history of the Syrian formation between the seventies and sixties, pointing to the importance of attending important names such as Nazir Nabaa in his realistic school, Fateh Al-Modarres and Adham Ismail. great artists.
