Major US airlines have canceled dozens of flights due to the prevailing weather and staffing problems.
And the “Associated Press” agency quoted Delta, United, JetBlue, American and Alaska Airlines as saying: “The Corona virus caused employment problems in addition to bad weather that led to the cancellation of hundreds of flights to and from or within the United States.”
In turn, United Company indicated that it canceled 115 flights today, out of more than four thousand scheduled flights, due to the shortage of its air crew members and workers, due to the increase in infections with the Corona virus.
For its part, Alaska Airlines said that severe winter weather in the Pacific Northwest led to the cancellation of nearly 250 flights to and from Seattle yesterday, and it is expected to cancel more than 100 flights today.
Several countries have imposed partial or total closures or imposed spatial distancing measures to counter the rapid outbreak of Omicron, which the World Health Organization has classified as worrying, and much is still unknown, including the severity of symptoms.
