In a closed session, the Hohenpeißenberg municipal council recently dealt with the updating of the regional plan and specifically with the development of the settlement.

In doing so, trend-setting results were drawn up, which were presented at the most recent municipal council meeting.

Hohenpeißenberg - "We are lucky that Hohenpeißenberg is classified as a place that has development potential," said the head of the municipal building authority, Stefan Fischer, in the municipal council meeting when he presented the results of the exam.

The committee dealt with three questions: Does the municipal council also see the development potential for Hohenpeißenberg?

Will a main town be determined and if so, which one?

Where is there development potential in terms of housing and commerce?

Hohenpeißenberg is classified by the planners as a central location with development potential, because of its size, its central location within the Weilheim-Schongau district and because of its good infrastructure with shopping facilities and rail connections.

This is an advantage in terms of the “regional plan”, said Mayor Thomas Dorsch after the municipal council meeting.

The local council agreed with this assessment of the development potential, explained Fischer.

There was also agreement on the question of whether a main town should be determined. "It was about the question of how do we look at the district 'Hetten'?" Said Dorsch. And the clear vote of the committee was that the “Hetten” with its inn, the kindergarten, the leisure area including the swimming lake and the “house of clubs” belonged to the main town. In the future, this district should be better connected to the rest of the community.

Ultimately, it was a matter of determining possible areas for commercial and residential space.

The commercial areas were generously determined because it must be expected that they might not be available after all.

The reason for the residential development "should be kept for this in the long term," said Fischer. Based on these results, a statement will now be drawn up, which will be incorporated into the regional planning.

"It was really great and constructive," said Dorsch about the retreat.

The fact that the meeting on the subject of the “regional plan” had been so well prepared paved the way for a fruitful afternoon in which everyone worked across the political groups.

"It worked well." And solutions had been found where everyone said, "It works just as well."

The mayor emphasized that the regional plan should be seen as future planning: “There is no reason to get hysterical.” After the closed session, there were a number of calls to the town hall from citizens who either saw themselves neglected or were indulging in a gold rush mood because their property is a possible building plot.

"This is initially a very rough plan," said the mayor.
