Anna Jungmeier has been supporting the Neufahrn social station for years with the sale of hand-knitted socks.

It's now also available on Instagram.

Neufahrn

- It has long been a cherished tradition: Anna Jungmeier (84) has been visiting the SenTa day care center for the elderly at the Neufahrn welfare station for nine years, accompanied by her granddaughter or daughter-in-law.

Each time she has an envelope with her.

This contains the annual proceeds from the sale of your self-knitted socks.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The pensioner came to the welfare center through her husband, who has since passed away. He was a regular guest of the senior citizens' meeting there on Tuesdays. It was always a special day of the week for the couple: "On Tuesdays I took a deep breath and lazed a bit while my husband was there, and he really enjoyed the varied company," says Anna Jungmeier.

Her passion has always been knitting socks.

At first she sold them at the Christmas market, but then Corona came.

Then her granddaughter had the brilliant idea: She set up an Instagram account for grandma.

You can contact her via “annisoma socks”, write to her and order socks.

"Hello everyone!

I'm Anni and I like to knit socks for my life.

The wool is of high quality, and the proceeds go to the social station in Neufahrn! ”You read there.

The prices are twelve or 14 euros, depending on the size.

“This appreciation of our work touches me very much,” said Christine Steiner, Deputy Head of SenTa at the handover of the donation.

“Right now, during the pandemic and with the care emergency, that gives us strength and is one of the most beautiful moments in our job.”
