We tested the Honor 50 and 50 Lite: differences, cameras and price

2022-02-01T22:30:10.680Z

We pitted the Honor 50 and 50 Lite against each other and compared their features, price, cameras, and display, and this was the result.

The Honor 50 was one of the cell phones that surprised me the most in 2021. This team marked the return of Google services to the brand after becoming independent from Huawei and the company decided not to launch it alone, so it presented its "little brother" the Honor 50lite.

Both smartphones are aimed at the same segment -the mid-range- but they have notable differences that are worth reviewing.

Then we leave you the face to face of the two teams of Honor.

Features Honor 50 and 50 Lite

This is what you should know about each of the phones in terms of technical characteristics, cameras, memory and screen type:

Design: the same series, but completely different

We are used to the fact that when there is the same family of phones, their design is quite similar.

Let's think about the Apple iPhone 13 or the Samsung Galaxy S21 series and we will find that all their versions are very similar, but this is not the case with these Honor phones.

If they hadn't told me that the Lite is the version with fewer features, I might not have related them at all or thought they belong to the same family.

The camera equipment is completely different and the colors available for each one are not the same either.

In this sense, in the Honor 50 we have a camera module recharged on the left and with an organization of sensors that is also completely different from that of the Honor 50 Lite.

And I don't know if it's the design, but the Honor 50 looks more premium both because of the cameras section, the finish on the back and also because on the front we have a screen with smaller frames and curved side edges that give the feeling of being in front of a high-end team.

Also, this screen was one of my favorite features of the device because of its brightness.

In the example below we can see that there is also a difference in the intensity of the brightness of the screen when we open the camera of both devices.

The Honor 50 (left side) shows more intense colors, while the Honor 50 Lite (right side) has slightly duller tones.

Face to face: Honor 50 and 50 Lite cameras

We took the same image with both phones (although the cat moved on one) and these are the results we got in each case.

The images on the left side belong to the Honor 50, while the ones on the right side belong to the Honor 50 Lite.

  • Galaxy S21 FE: a very good phone that does not arrive at the best time

In addition to brighter colors, we can see in the zoom the building that "breaks" more easily that of the Honor 50 Lite.
