The Russian ambassador to Syria, Alexander Yefimov, condemned the Israeli aggression on areas in the vicinity of Damascus at dawn today.
"Russia strongly condemns the Israeli raids on Syria and calls for their cessation," Yefimov told Sputnik, stressing that "these Israeli attacks on Syrian territory are absolutely illegal from the point of view of international law."
Yefimov pointed out that "such attacks lead to casualties, cause serious material damage, violate the sovereignty of states, pose a threat to international civil air traffic and, in general, aggravate the difficult military-political situation in the region as a whole."
A soldier was martyred and five others were wounded as a result of an Israeli missile attack at dawn today on the outskirts of the city of Damascus, which also caused damage to civilian homes and properties in Qudsaya, northwest of Damascus.
