Opposition leader Netanyahu said in a recording played during the demonstration: "It is not possible for the police, who acted in violation of the law, to interrogate themselves."

Thousands of people came to the right-wing demonstration tonight (Thursday) in Habima Square in Tel Aviv in protest of the Bennett government and the police espionage affair.

The demonstration was held under the call for a state commission of inquiry "into the police espionage case".

The demonstrators carried Israeli flags and signs that read: "Netanyahu is corrupt? Live broadcast from the trial."

Other signs read: "Bypass system" and "Illegal government with the help of Pegasus".

During the demonstration, a recording was made of opposition leader and former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which he was heard saying: "I am with you in heart and soul.

I am with you demanding that a state commission of inquiry investigate the serious espionage case in which the Israeli police spied on Israeli citizens.

It is not possible for the police, who acted in violation of the law, to investigate themselves.

Only a state commission of inquiry will find out who gave the order, who the people who were in the secret were, against whom they spied and what secret information of Israeli citizens was pumped in violation of the law. "

Netanyahu went on to say: "On Saturday, I met a not-so-new immigrant, Rosa. She told me, 'I immigrated from the USSR to democracy and now I feel that democracy is in danger.'

I would like to thank all of you for the determined struggle for our beloved country.

With the help of the name and with your help - the truth and justice have been published. "

MK Israel Katz said at the demonstration that "a state commission of inquiry is needed.

From what is already known, it is clear that there was an attempt to incriminate an incumbent prime minister from the Likud.

In the name of all of you, in the name of millions - we are all Benjamin Netanyahu. "

Katz added, referring to the authorities: "What did you change your mind about? What exactly are you afraid of? The right and freedom of expression in Israel are under attack. The vision of the Jewish state is under attack by the Bennett, Lapid, Lieberman and Mansour Abbas government. "

Katz, who was finance minister before Lieberman, called on him to replace him: "You act like an anti-Semite. He is the only culprit for all the cost of living. Where is the heart like the previous Netanyahu-led government had?"

MK Yariv Levin: "Not all invented cases will help.

We are with you.

Benjamin Netanyahu will return to be prime minister soon.

We will not rest or be quiet until an independent, independent commission of inquiry is set up.

"There is no point in returning to power unless we really rule and this time we will return to power and return the justice system to the state and not a handful of lawyers who think their state is theirs."
