Some ATMs have emptied, convoys of tanks | Israel today

2022-02-24T23:10:33.691Z

The sounds of the explosions accompany me throughout the day • There are already reports of deaths, and everyone understands that it is going to be very difficult • Katrina Malupayeva, a journalist from Mariupol in the Donetsk region, finds herself at the heart of the story she usually reports

I was standing in line at the ATM and about 20 minutes ago I heard missile noises.

I also saw convoys of civilian buses with women and children escorted by police leaving the place and convoys of tanks departing from Mariupol.

In the morning I heard explosions in the distance where according to my sources in the navy I was told that a hard battle had taken place and unfortunately they had to retreat towards the port because the Russian forces had doubled the Ukrainian army.

There are columns of cars trying to get fuel, but at the moment it is not possible to pay by credit card.

Only accept cash.

In addition there are restrictions on the amount of cash withdrawn from the ATMs and some of them are empty.

The civilians in the suburbs closest to the front line understand that the war will be very difficult and there are reports in Mariupol of civilians killed.

Currently (local evening time) not as tense as it was in the morning.

In addition I heard from my sources near the Crimean peninsula heard artillery shelling.

One of the central bridges was bombed and drowned in the water.

I do not see a big panic here and because of the situation the people here are quite quiet, trying to come to terms with what is happening.
