Today, the Donetsk People's Republic announced the surrender of 40 Ukrainian soldiers without a fight.
Sputnik news agency quoted the leader of the Donetsk People's Republic, Daria Morozova, as saying that "40 Ukrainian soldiers voluntarily laid down their arms and headed to the side of the Donetsk People's Republic," noting that they were provided with food and full medical assistance.
In addition, well-informed sources in the Donetsk Republic reported hearing the sounds of intense Ukrainian artillery shelling of the capital of the republic, whose forces are fighting the Ukrainian army with Russian air coverage.
The sources indicated that the explosions occurred near the Kievsky district of the city.
Earlier, the area was subjected to Ukrainian bombardment that targeted a kindergarten, residential buildings and infrastructure facilities, and the shelling also resulted in civilian casualties.
