Today, Lattakia City Council launched a comprehensive cleaning campaign on the northern tourist area, “The Blue Beach Road”, with the participation of 250 youth volunteers from the Youth Union.
The head of the city council, Hussain Zingerli, confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that the campaign comes in the context of the governorate’s interest in the aesthetic aspect and considering hygiene as one of the priorities of work, pointing out that the campaign includes cleaning sidewalks, mowing weeds, trimming trees and caring for the central islands.
The Director of Hygiene in the Council, Engineer Ammar Al-Qusiri, pointed out that the campaign targets the area from the Sports City Roundabout to the Beach Roundabout, with the participation of youth volunteers and with the participation of workshops, mechanisms and workers of the Directorate of Services, Maintenance and Hygiene in the City Council.
He pointed out that the campaign comes in preparation for the upcoming tourist season, indicating that the campaigns will continue with the participation of civil and popular events and volunteers from various events according to the available capabilities.
