Before kick-off the men of Pep Guardiola all displayed a t-shirt on which had been printed a Ukrainian flag with the message "No War".
Their teammate, Oleksandr Zinchenko, taking his place in the stands at the start of the match, was particularly touched by this gesture, letting a few tears flow.
On the Everton side too, the squad received special attention: all the players, including Vitali Mykolenko, Ukrainian full-back, entered the field carrying a Ukrainian flag to the applause of the moved public.
The two Ukrainians from each team had met a few moments earlier, warming up, for a warm hug.
