The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of 1,067 targets in the military infrastructure of the ruling regime in Kiev, as the forces of the Lugansk and Donetsk republics continued to advance with the support of Russian forces.
"The Russian soldiers show courage and heroism in the course of carrying out the combat missions of the special military operation, and unfortunately there are dead and wounded comrades, but our losses are much less than the losses of the Ukrainian nationalist extremists whose forces are being destroyed," the ministry's spokesman, Major-General Igor Konashenkov said in a statement today.
"The forces of the Lugansk People's Republic, with the fire support of the Russian armed forces, succeeded in successfully advancing another 4 km into the depth of the enemy's defenses, while the units of the Donetsk People's Republic overcame the resistance of the extremist units and advanced another 6 km, in addition to the liberation of the cities of Nizhny, Granitnoy and Gnotovo," Konashenkov added.
Konashenkov pointed out that the Russian forces managed to destroy 1,067 targets in the military infrastructure of Ukraine, including 27 command centers and military communications centers, 38 anti-aircraft missile systems, in addition to shooting down Bayraktar (TB2) attack drones.
Konashenkov indicated that 254 tanks and armored fighting vehicles, 31 aircraft on the ground, 46 multiple rocket launchers, 103 field artillery and mortars, and 164 units of special military vehicles were destroyed.
Regarding Ukrainian prisoners of war, Konashenkov said, "We will continue to treat with dignity all soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who laid down their arms, we understand that they took an oath before the people of Ukraine, all those who laid down their arms and stopped resisting will return to their families."
Regarding the Russian prisoners, he added, "We know how the Ukrainian Nazis deal with the few prisoners of Russian soldiers, we see that they practice the torture that the German Nazis and their policemen used in the Great Patriotic War against them."
The Russian forces are continuing their special military operation for the fourth consecutive day, which began in the Donbass region to protect the population there.
