They run for their lives.
The city of Irpin, about 27 kilometers from Kyiv, was again under fire from the Russian army on Monday.
About 2,000 civilians could be evacuated.
"It's a disaster in the city. The neighborhood where I live is almost completely destroyed. There aren't any houses that haven't been bombed. Yesterday was the heaviest bombing. The lights and the noise are so scary and the whole building I sat under the door frame with the kids half the night because it's the safest place, and I've decided that's enough."
"Why did you only now decide to flee?"
"There was a statement from the mayor, he said this is our last chance to go. He said there will be heavy fighting and it's better to go."
The escape is dangerous, and several civilians are said to have died.
The Russian government had announced several escape corridors in the morning.
However, half of them go to Russia and Belarus.
Ukraine refuses.
"We walked and then a man helped our family. He drove us here. He told us that his family was killed and that he was helping refugees. So I can't actually say that I'm a refugee, I am one Woman who fled. It doesn't really matter, what matters is that my children are here."
Meanwhile, the struggle for a diplomatic solution to end the war continues unabated.
The foreign ministers of Russia and Ukraine plan to meet in Antalya, Turkey on Thursday.
