Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked Britain for more support.
In a video address, he asked the London House of Commons to step up sanctions against Russia, consider Russia a "terrorist state" and ensure Ukrainian airspace security.
Zelenskyy and other Ukrainian officials have repeatedly asked the West to establish no-fly zones.
So far, it has been rejected on the grounds that direct participation by NATO countries could result in a war between the military alliance and Russia.
Even before the speech began, the British MPs stood up and applauded.
Zelesnkyj played aggressively, alluding to a speech by former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill from World War II: »We will not surrender and we will not lose.
We will fight to the end, at sea and in the air.
We will continue to fight for our country, no matter what the cost.
We will fight in the forests and in the fields, on the shores, in the towns and villages, in the roads and on the hills."
In view of the Russian attack, Ukraine is dealing with Shakespeare's question "To be or not to be," said the politician.
In view of the tenacious resistance of his compatriots against the Russian army, he could now give a definitive answer.
"It's definitely: his," Zelenskyj said.
