Foreign Minister Lapid to visit Ukraine-Romania border Israel today

Against the background of the ongoing fighting, the Foreign Minister will travel to Romania and Slovakia and meet with the heads of state of the two countries.


Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will take off tomorrow (Saturday evening) for two border countries with Ukraine - Romania and Slovakia.

During his visit, the Foreign Minister will meet with Foreign Ministry officials who have been working in the field on an emergency basis for more than two weeks.

Minister Lapid will also meet with the heads of state and discuss with them the situation in Europe and bilateral relations with Israel.

Sunday (13.3) - Romania

Foreign Minister Bucharest will meet with Romanian Prime Minister Nikolai Chuka and Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Oresko.

In addition, Foreign Minister Lapid will arrive at the Siret border crossing between Romania and Ukraine and will meet with Foreign Ministry officials who have been working at the crossing for the past two weeks to rescue Israelis and Jews from Ukraine and assist refugees crossing the border.

The Foreign Minister will receive an overview of what is happening from the Israeli ambassador to Romania and the head of the Romanian emergency services.

Monday (14.3) - Slovakia

Foreign Minister Bratislava will meet with President Zuzana Chaputova and Foreign Minister Ivan Korczuk.
