Unsolved Peggy Knobloch case: Mother tells of the little girl's last words

Her mother and sister give an emotional TV interview to RTL.
Munich/Lichtenberg – The Peggy Knobloch case caused a stir in Germany* for years.
RTL is now showing a documentary called "Missing Peggy".
This traces the unsolved case from the disappearance of the then nine-year-old girl on May 7, 2001 to the discovery of her remains in July 2016.

Another issue: the investigators' suspicions about the mother from Lichtenberg in Upper Franconia, which ultimately could never be substantiated.
Susanne Knobloch has now given an emotional TV interview as part of the true crime series RTL.
In it she tells, among other things, of the last words of her missing and presumably killed young daughter.
"I forgot something, forgot something important: I love you, Mom!", describes Susanne Knobloch and breaks off in tears: "If I knew that this was the last …"
Peggy Knobloch* is said to have disappeared on the way home from school that May day.
"It was only nine years.
Nine beautiful years.
But I would have liked to have had much, much more with her, ”says Susanne Knobloch in the documentary with the certainty that she will never see her girl again.
On July 2, 2016, a mushroom picker found skeletal parts in a forest near Rodacherbrunn in Thuringia, about twelve kilometers as the crow flies from Lichtenberg.
After a DNA analysis, these turned out to be the mortal remains of Peggy Knobloch.

The younger sister, now a young woman in her mid-20s, also spoke in the RTL interview.
"It's every day that she's missing," she said and talks about waiting in vain for news as a three-year-old child at the time: "I still remember that I didn't want to go to bed and stayed on the couch.
Because I said I'd only go upstairs and sleep when Peggy got back.
I've never been upstairs in either room since that happened."

She and her mother would “never be able to finish it.
And it doesn't get any better.
Because something is always missing," explains Jasmin Knobloch: "There are very often moments when I wish it had never happened.
That everything would just have been the same.
That she's still here and that we've spent our lives together until now.”
