On the occasion of the first anniversary of the departure of the artist Mayada Bsailis, an artistic celebration was held on the stage of the Artists Syndicate in Aleppo, which was revived by the Syrian National Band for Arab Music, led by Maestro Adnan Fathallah.

The celebration included the screening of a documentary film about the late woman's life and the love story she lived with musician Samir Kwifati, and the most important lyrical and artistic stations in her life.

The Director of Tourism in Aleppo, Eng. Naila Shahoud, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the celebration expresses the love of the people of Aleppo for the late and her immortal presence in their memory because of her distinctive voice and national art.

In turn, the Director of Culture in Aleppo, Jaber Sajour, said that the late woman is still present in her spirit and her songs that have remained resounding in her city and throughout Syria.

And the musician Kwifati indicated that the people of the city of Aleppo came today to the Syndicate of Artists to commemorate the death of the late Mayada is evidence of their love for an artist who was and still is immortal in their hearts and minds.

Maestro Fathallah stressed that the late woman is one of the most important Syrian figures who enriched the Syrian Lyrical Library in partnership with her husband, as they formed a Syrian duo with distinction for singing in the Syrian dialect, which contributed to the consolidation of the identity and personality of the Syrian song, indicating that the celebration was a return to the grace for what the late woman presented.

The artist, Linda Bitar, pointed out that the celebration is a tribute to the Syrian icon, who, along with the musician Kwifati, formed an immortal artistic legacy in the memory of the Syrians, while the artist Sana Barakat pointed to the great responsibility of standing in front of the audience of the late Basilis and her performance of songs they used to hear in her voice, while the artist Nancy Zaabalawi spoke about the privacy of participation. On the anniversary of the departure of the artist Basilis, who will remain present in her spirit and art.

From the audience, the artist, Mohamed Khair Al-Jarrah, spoke about his sadness at the departure of the artist Basilis, but she will continue to illuminate her city, Aleppo, with its culture and art engraved in the conscience and memory of the Syrians. .
