Artist Tayseer Qawwaf’s exhibition brings life back to a gallery in Aleppo after a ten-year hiatus

The new plastic exhibition of the artist, Tayseer Qawwaf, under the name of artistic concerns, included more than 100 paintings and sculptures with different styles, experiments and themes.

This exhibition opened the artistic activity in Al-Qawaf Gallery for Fine Arts after a hiatus of about ten years due to the terrorist war on Syria.

In a statement to SANA reporter, the artist Qawaf explained that the paintings, wood carvings and applied works that were contained in his exhibition are his own experiences that express his special concerns in an expressive and realistic style, in addition to abstract expressionism, using wooden pieces to carve them in distinctive, unconventional shapes that differ from classical sculpture.

The Director of Aleppo Culture, Jaber Al-Sajour, pointed out that this exhibition comes as part of the Ministry of Culture's endeavor to support the artistic movement and return the cultural and artistic brilliance to the city, indicating that the displayed works were recycled from stone and wood to carry an aesthetic value and give another spirit to the sculpture.

For his part, the artist Ibrahim Daoud, Secretary of the Aleppo Branch of the Union of Fine Artists, spoke about the importance of reopening the Al-Qawaf Art Gallery through an exhibition through which the artist sought, through his works, to be a reflection of a certain human reality and condition, using many techniques related to him in terms of color and materials used, such as drawing on stone and wood. Where he tried to be alone in using it.
