The Tele 5 series SchleFaZ returned on Friday with Super Mario Bros.
The rate is remarkable.
But spectators fell asleep in droves.
Munich - The expensive blockbusters run mainly on the big TV stations.
The comparatively small channel Tele 5 countered this with a creative idea: Since 2013, the series “The Worst Films of All Time” has been running there under the affectionate abbreviation “SchleFaZ”, presented by Oliver Kalkofe and Peter Rütten.
The tenth season began on Friday (March 18), as reported by tz.de.
Tele 5 achieves strong ratings with the lousy "SchleFaZ" film "Super Mario Bros."
It started with the video game adaptation "Super Mario Bros." from 1993. According to the film platform IMDB.com, it's far from the worst flick of all time - but with an average rating of 4.1/10 it can definitely be described as bad and thus fits into the Tele 5 series.
The rate should make the broadcaster cheer: On Friday, with 200,000 viewers and a market share of 2.0 percent, it was "far above the normal values of Tele 5" according to dwdl.de.

"One of the worst SchleFaZ so far.
I'm broken," writes one fan. Another found the film "cute in its stupid way".
But not everyone persevered:
"Yesterday fell asleep at the 'Super Mario Bros.' SchleFaZ and woke up again when 'Saw' was playing,"
writes one.
"I slept away for the last half hour" and "I fell asleep at SchleFaZ" more.
"Let's Dance" also caused fan discussions on Friday evening.
