The wanted city against the big lottery operation Israel today

2022-03-22T13:57:43.506Z

Or Yehuda, perhaps the most wanted city in the lottery operation, against the Minister of Housing. So why should anyone who is lucky enough to have an apartment in the center of the country have nothing to rejoice over.

How attractive is the publicized lottery operation with apartments available to eligible people?

So here is the clear example: the mayor of Or Yehuda, Liat Shochat, to Minister Elkin: "The lottery is full of sand in the eyes of the winners."

Against the background of the lottery "Apartment at a discount", the mayor turned to the Minister of Construction and Housing, warning him that the lottery at this time in Or Yehuda would harm the winners, instead of benefiting: "The lottery is disconnected from what is happening in the field. ".

It should be noted that Or Yehuda is considered one of the five most sought-after cities, due to its location in Gush Dan.

In less than 24 hours, 45,000 people were registered to be eligible for the lotteries.

Now it turns out there is opposition as well.

Following the lottery of the Ministry of Construction and Housing of about 10,000 housing units, as part of the "Discounted Apartment" program, the mayor of Or Yehuda, Liat Shochat, recently wrote a scathing letter to the Minister of Construction and Housing, Zeev Elkin, claiming that she encourages the project. To grant an apartment at a discount to those eligible, but that the lottery on time does not allow for the realization of eligibility in the near future, thus producing more harm than good.

Or Yehuda is currently working on the construction of the Neve Ayalon neighborhood in the west of the city, where about 2,500 housing units are to be built.

As part of the upcoming lottery, 322 housing units are being raffled off, although the neighborhood's infrastructure is not yet ready, and there are bureaucratic barriers that prevent its promotion.

In her letter, Shochat clarified that the move of the Ministry of Construction and Housing was not brought to the attention of the Or Yehuda Municipality, and does not correspond to the reality on the ground.

This is the place to note that in the Neve Ayalon neighborhood there has been a delay in announcing the winner, due to legal proceedings that have ended in recent months.

In addition, there are several intruders in the compound who have not yet completed the evacuation treatment of the Israel Land Authority.

These are invaders sitting on public areas and main roads, a move that prevents the municipality from developing these areas.

Obviously, as long as these issues are not resolved, it is not possible to proceed with the development of the area, and certainly it is not possible to issue building permits and populate the apartments.

Currently, permits have been issued for only 70 housing units out of the 322 housing units to be raffled off, and even then - only after agreement between the municipality, the Ministry of Housing and the developers, that there will be a postponement of the delivery of the apartments.

The other housing units that are supposed to be raffled off have not yet received a building permit, nor will they get one until these issues are resolved.

"It is a pity and unfortunate that under cooperation with the local authority, in whose territory the lotteries are to take place, you choose to act unilaterally, which is completely detached from what is happening on the ground, apparently for reasons reserved for you," Shochat added in a letter to Minister Elkin.

"In light of the above, I demand that in the current lottery, the housing units that are to be raffled off in Or Yehuda be removed from the list, until a complete and comprehensive solution to the problems raised in my letter. I sincerely hope that my demand is met.

Mayor Shochat explains: "The Or Yehuda municipality under my leadership encourages the promotion of construction projects at discounted prices, and as evidence we promoted the construction of a house neighborhood in the park, most of whose residents are eligible for the 'price per occupant' project. "And this is a standard that we want to maintain in the establishment of the Neve Ayalon neighborhood. Unfortunately, the rabbi will speed up the process of grilling apartments that can not be inhabited in the coming years, and since the issue of young couples is close to my heart, it is important to me that it is handled professionally and better."
