An official delegation from the International Bureau of Exhibitions visited the Syrian pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The delegation was accompanied during the visit by the permanent Syrian ambassador to UNESCO, Lamia Shakour, and the director of the Syrian pavilion, Eng. Khaled al-Sham`a.
This visit comes on the sidelines of the presence of the International Bureau of Exhibitions in Dubai to attend the “Expo 2020 Dubai” awards ceremony, which awarded the Syrian pavilion the gold award in the “interpretation of the topic” category, an award given to the best pavilion that was able to embody the theme of “Connecting Minds and Creating the Future” for the exhibition. It is noteworthy that the BIE is an intergovernmental organization concerned with supervising international exhibitions “Expo” and includes 170 countries, including Syria.
