According to media reports, US President Joe Biden's spokeswoman Jen Psaki plans to leave the White House in late spring.
Several US media, including news site Axios and broadcaster CNN, citing unnamed sources, reported that Psaki was planning a move to MSNBC.
A contract has not yet been signed.
CNN wrote that Psaki wants to remain White House spokesman at least until the end of April.
She had previously announced that Psaki wanted to leave the government headquarters in the course of the year.
Details about the timing and their future plans have so far been open.
As Axios reports, Psaki will host a show for MSNBC on the Peacock streaming platform.
She will also participate in various formats, but not moderate the 9 p.m. show as a replacement for well-known US presenter Rachel Maddow, as previously speculated.
Psaki's deal with the network is similar to that of Symone Sanders, a former adviser and senior spokeswoman for US Vice President Kamala Harris, Axios reports.
Sanders signed an exclusive deal with MSNBC in January to host a show on Peacock and participate in live programming on MSNBC.
As Biden's spokeswoman, who answers reporters' questions almost every day in the White House, Psaki is one of the prominent faces of the US government to the outside world.
The 43-year-old had already held important communications posts during the tenure of then US President Barack Obama, including as communications director at the White House and as spokeswoman for the State Department.
Shifts from government headquarters spokespersons to television stations are not uncommon in the United States.
