The Mayan Train, one of the flagship projects of the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has triggered many criticisms that it puts the ecosystem of that tourist area at risk.
The Greenpeace organization is now joining the protests, asking the president to avoid an irreparable environmental impact.
López Obrador defends that the work will bring benefits, and affirms that they have the support of indigenous communities in the area.
