The case lost about 800,000 yuan.
Police officers arrived at the scene and after preliminary investigation, the case was classified as "obtaining property by deception" and was handed over to the Yau Tsim Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
Police identified the suspect as a 30-year-old man, about 1.7 meters tall, with a thin build and short black hair.
After in-depth investigation by Yau Tsim Police District Intelligence Unit and Criminal Investigation Team, a 28-year-old man surnamed Mo was arrested in Tin Shui Wai District at about 1 pm yesterday (7th) on suspicion of "obtaining property by deception". Detained for investigation.
Police believe the operation has successfully dismantled a virtual currency fraud syndicate.
Police operations are still ongoing and more arrests cannot be ruled out.
