Bruce Willis and Emma Heming share pictures 'in their favorite habitat'

“Mom and Dad in their favorite habitat.”

With this caption, Emma Heming Willis, the wife of actor Bruce Willis, published on her Instagram profile what appears to be the first images of the Hollywood star since it was announced in late March that he would be retiring from acting due to his struggle with aphasia.

In the first of the two published photographs – which were taken by their daughter, Mabel Ray Willis, although it is not known exactly when – the couple are sitting on a tree trunk in the middle of a forest, smiling and embracing.

In the second, Willis is looking at the camera while Heming is looking down.

Willis and Heming celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary last month.

The couple got married in March 2009 at a ceremony in the Caribbean, at which Willis's ex-wife Demi Moore was in attendance, accompanied by her then-husband Ashton Kutcher.

Since then, Heming and Willis have made a big show of their relationship – which produced two children, Mabel Ray and Evelyn Penn – and they even renewed their vows on the occasion of their 10th anniversary with a party at which, once again, Moore was present.

Heming, a British actress and model, was among those who signed the statement announcing Willis's retirement from acting.

Also lending her names to the social media post were Moore and the children she had with the Hollywood legend, as well as Mabel Ray and Evelyn Penn.

The statement explained that the aphasia was “impacting her cognitive abilities” and that the family was going through a “really challenging time,” expressing their appreciation for the “love, compassion and support” of her fans.

Since the situation became public, there has been an outpouring of support for Willis and his family from friends, fans and colleagues.

One of the latest to make a public statement was Haley Joel Osment, who shot to global fame as Cole Sear in

, which starred Willis.

“He's a true legend who has enriched all of our lives with a singular career that spans nearly half a century,” Osment wrote on Instagram.
