A little over 24 hours ago, terrorist Raed Hazem from the Jenin refugee camp stood in the doorway of the Elka bar, opened fire and killed three people, and stopped the resting city for several hours.

Throughout the day, one might think that Tel Aviv continued to mature.

The cafes were full, the markets were buzzing.

Only on closer inspection are the open wounds visible.

The conversations were all about fear and the night curfew, the face smiling less, the shock noticeable.

At the same time yesterday the bar "Elka" was flooded with blazers.

Now, the police fence enclosing the seats in Ilka is surrounded by passers-by, hugging each other, paying last respects to the victims, lighting a memorial candle with tears in their eyes, trying to digest.

Some of the nearby bars, such as Izo and Betat, have not yet reopened their gates.

Others opened in a limited format.

Outside the Little Burger Shop are two police motorcycles, a reminder of last night's events.

Aside from them, the store says, business seems to be more or less as usual.

"At noon it was a little weaker, now there is a routine amount of customers," they said.

"There was some tension, obviously, but there is not much difference."

In nearby businesses, large Israeli flags hung in front.

In one of them they said that the representatives of the municipality went from business to business in the afternoon and asked if they would like to have a small flag with a pole.

Dizzy Frishdon, one of the busiest bars in the area, decided on an intermediate solution - not to succumb to terrorism and close, but also not to open in the festive atmosphere that characterizes Friday nights.

"We want to show people that they can go out to breathe a little, have a drink. Basically the place is totally welcome but we do not yet know if they will come and do not want to call to ask. We debated whether not to open at all, in the end we decided yes. Together, "they said.

Eli and Eliran, aged 22 and 23, came to Bar Magen Yavne and Modi'in to sit down for a glass of beer.

"We were not afraid for a moment, we did not think twice," they clarified.

"In the end you have no control over it."

Many of the workers on the street showed up for the shift with the sounds and sights from the attack still echoing in their heads.

Inbal from the Spicehouse was forced to provide assistance to victims of anxiety who wanted to take shelter yesterday.

"It was not easy to come," she admitted.

In the cocktail bar tonight they opened the delivery shop only.

"It was to respect, people need a moment, both the workers and passers-by," she added.

Barak, another employee, explained that "in my eyes most people are not afraid. People do not want to be upset. But joy is not the same thing."

Dean Raichel, 35, the owner of the alley bar a few dozen meters from Ilka, could not believe it was happening to him again.

Just six years ago the terrorist carried a murderous bread from a customer and one of the owners of the bar, wounding seven others.

"The first shock that hit me was the deja vu. When I was on the scooter and I still did not know which bar the shots were in I already knew what I was going to experience with the families, with the staff, with the street. The arena looked exactly the same. People were hiding down here ", He repeated.

"We did not plan to open today but the customers and staff demanded of us, wanted to get stronger and hug. There are fewer people, usually the whole place is full at this hour."
