Hundreds of angry women gathered around the closed stadium • The demonstrator was shocked: "We spent a lot of money, and now we are not allowed to enter"

The Iranian authorities have faced a political storm in the football industry over the past week.

These are not the usual political issues that excite the Iranian world of sports - but rather a feminist protest, which has succeeded in embarrassing the ayatollahs' regime in front of the world.

The protest focused on banning women from entering stadiums and watching football matches, after last week authorities in the country banned women from entering a stadium in the capital Tehran and watching an Iranian national team match against Lebanon, as part of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Hundreds of angry women gathered around the closed stadium, protesting against the ban and the regime.

Women were officially allowed to enter football games after a major protest in the country in 2019. However, usually the authorities prevent the women from entering the stadiums on various grounds.

"It was explicitly stated that women could buy a ticket and enter the game. Hundreds of women bought a ticket and waited in line for hours. We spent a lot of money, and now we are not allowed to enter," one of the protesters told an Iranian media outlet.

Police forces arrived at the scene and began firing tear gas at the women.

In the videos published on the Internet, demonstrators were seen injured in their eyes as a result of the tear gas fire.

The women were also joined by many men, who expressed outrage at the authorities' decision.

An Iranian surfer wrote on Twitter: "Today, football-loving women from Iran have shed tear gas outside the Imam Raza Stadium. Dear men, you are so shameless that you attack the girls of your country who just wanted to watch a football game? Nothing could embarrass you, not even the ultimatum of FIFA.

FIFA has expressed outrage at Iran's conduct, which has pledged to allow women to enter and watch the economy, and has told the media that it will investigate what is happening in the game. On them from "malicious behavior of men."
