The Minister of Culture and Sports and the chairman of the Committee for Symbols and Ceremonies, Hili Trooper, announced yesterday the selection of the beacon peaks on the 74th Independence Day of the State of Israel.
Among the lighters: Chairman of the "After Me!" Movement, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Yoram Yair (Ya-Ya); Yael Scherer, founder of the "Lobby for the War on Sexual Violence"; Al-Carmel, and Angel Alon, who cared for 217 infants and foster children at risk.
Major General Yair, a resident of Hod Hasharon, served for 35 years in key positions in the IDF, including the commander of the Paratroopers Brigade and the head of the Personnel Division.
About three decades ago, he lost his daughter, the late Captain Shlomit Yair, who was killed as an operations officer in a plane crash.

"Great right"
Ye-ya currently serves as chairman of "Together for the Soldier" and chairman of the "After Me" movement, which prepares thousands of youth and young people from the geographical and social periphery for significant service in the IDF and leadership positions in the community.
