Excursions on the Easter holidays in the Tegernsee valley

A cool beer after an easy hike is available on the Neureuth.
It is also open on Easter Monday, although Monday is actually a day off.

The weather is mixed on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but the sun returns with Jesus' resurrection.
Excursion time around the Tegernsee.
Here are a few examples of what is possible despite the mountains still being covered with snow.
Tegernseer Tal - The holidays can be used to discover the beautiful sides of the Oberland - on land, on water and in the mountains.
summer toboggan run
The summer toboggan run on the Oedberg in Ostin is expected to start operating on Good Friday.
"Assuming we manage to be ready to go by then," says Agnes Mair from the Oedbergalm.
If everything goes according to plan, the toboggan run will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. up to and including Easter Monday.
According to Mair, ticket prices will soon be available at www.oedberg.de.
The Oedbergalm is also open from 10 a.m. and offers the “full menu”, says Mair.
It closes one to two hours after the toboggan run.
Good Kaltenbrunn
Wrap up Obazda, sausage salad and tablecloth – and off you go to the self-service beer garden at Gut Kaltenbrunn in Gmund.
Here, as is usual in Bavarian beer gardens, guests can bring their snacks with them.
And order a cool beer and a giant pretzel on the spot.
The beer garden is open (when the weather is nice) on public holidays from 10 a.m. to sunset, on weekdays from 11 a.m.
Wallbergbahn
The Wallbergbahn runs daily from 8.45 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the panorama restaurant is also open.
Caution and good shoes are required on the Wallberg hiking trails.
As the Tourist Info Rottach-Egern informed on request, the paths, for example to the Wallberg-Kircherl, are accessible and largely snow-free.
However, they are wet and icy in shady places.
The ascent and descent costs 25 euros for adults and 62 euros for families.

Cast off!
The spring timetable has been in effect on Lake Tegernsee since the end of March (www.seenschifffahrt.de).
Two of the five ships in the fleet - the MS Rottach Egern and the MS Tegernsee - have a play area for children, a changing table, a disabled toilet and catering.
The 90-minute long tour costs 16.90 euros for adults, the southern 12.40 euros.
Children over the age of six receive a 50 percent discount.
FFP2 masks are compulsory indoors.
Neureuth
The Berggasthof Neureuth, to which many hiking trails lead, offers a huge sun terrace with a view of the lake.
According to landlord Thomas Gigl, all of them are easy to walk on, only coming from Schliersee over the Gindelalmen there is still some old snow.
The inn is open from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Thursdays until 10 p.m.) - also on Easter Monday, although Monday is actually a day off on the Neureuth.
Hot meals from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
Reservations are not possible on weekends and public holidays.
"But we have enough space," says Gigl.
You can do this around Miesbach and in the Schlierach-/Leitzachtal.
