Opinion | The Escape Trail from the Beacon Lighting Ceremony Israel today

2022-04-18T20:13:30.180Z

The choice of a beloved character like Rita, a non-controversial distraction, is part of a process • Since its inception, the Israeli government has made every effort to convey that everything is fine

Poor Rita.

Through no fault of her own, the diva of Israeli music caught the eye of the storm.

Unlike two Israel Prize winners this year, who did above and beyond to prove they were above and beyond the consensus, Rita, who will be honored to light a beacon, is the consensus.

Her choice has nothing to do with her being the beloved (replacement) sailor, Rita is wonderful and deserves all the love she receives from the public.

I greet her and rejoice in her joy.

But this year, in Forgiveness, instead of watching the beacon lighting ceremony, I will sit down to watch an episode of my series.

The Israeli public has been taken hostage.

Reality, which until recently was an integral part of our lives, has been pushed aside.

Israel's face as marketed by its spokespersons looks like an actress in the Japanese Bottle Theater - a thick makeup mask with a permanent smile on it.

The face hidden beneath, the wrinkles and tears on which the façade is smeared, no one will see.

On other, more peaceful days, Rita could have been the perfect choice for lighting the beacon.

A plump country that sits under a vine can afford one moment of lightness and contentment.

But the State of Israel is on fire and the ground is shaking under our feet.

The choice of Brita, beloved as it may be, is indeed a distraction, but the truth is that the government in Israel had no choice.

He had to choose a character like Rita, one who would not provoke controversy, because whoever was next to him would get stuck in the virtual coalition surviving another one like this.

Choosing a beloved character like Rita is part of a larger process.

The current Israeli government was formed following an amazing political deception exercise, and from the moment it was formed, its leaders made every effort to convey that everything was fine.

So they say "we came to work", while the government has been paralyzed for several months.

They say "a government of normal people" - and the normal residents of Jerusalem are under curfew for fear of a murderous mob.

Just last week we saw two phenomena that are part of the siliconization process that we are going through.

Lapid and Bennett in the video for Passover wish a happy holiday to the whole house of Israel.

This is an amateur forgery.

Even the negligible minority that still supports Bennett does not believe in the artificial laughter, the socialist pose and the Israeli familiarity that these two breeds.

But in practice the video transmits panic and insecurity.

But Bennett was not sure that the video would sweep the public after him as planned, and hence the decision to buy thousands of fake likes from India on his Twitter page seems almost logical.

This is neither esoteric nor an amusing anecdote - this is the heart of things.

Bennett hides from the public, you will not see him in the open air, and he buys his sympathy from fake Indians, all to keep rolling the bluff, to hold the façade attached to Akmo.

Goodbye Rita, goodbye beacons.

This year's ceremony on Mount Herzl on the eve of Independence Day is not mine and it is not for me, it represents something that every cell in my body opposes.

I can only pray that on the next Independence Day all the lies, failure and false laughter will pass like smoke, and will be replaced by Israeli pride and true love, from the heart, and to the glory of the State of Israel.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
