Adler Mannheim are eliminated in the DEL semi-final against Berlin

The Adler Mannheim did not complete their comeback in the semi-final series against the Eisbären Berlin and missed the finals in the German Ice Hockey League.
The Eagles' season ended on Thursday evening with a 0:3 (0:0, 0:1, 0:2) in the decisive game in Berlin.
From Friday (7.30 p.m. / MagentaSport), the polar bears will play against EHC Red Bull Munich in a maximum of five games for the German championship.
Berlin – The Mannheimers were 2-0 down after two defeats against Berlin in the semi-final series, but kept their final chance with victories in meetings three and four.
In the decisive game, however, no goal was scored.
Manuel Wiederer (21st minute) and Blaine Byron (46th/60th) shot the polar bears into the final.

The Mannheimers are waiting for the first final participation since 2019. The focus will now be on the search for a coach.
The eight-time German champion parted ways with Pavel Gross three main round games before the end.
As in the 2017/18 season, Bill Stewart took over as an interim solution.
