During the visit of UN Secretary-General António Guterres in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital was hit with rockets for the first time in around two weeks.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko spoke of two Russian attacks in the city center in the online service Telegram.

“In the evening the enemy fired on Kyiv.

Two attacks in the Shevschenkovsky district,” Klitschko wrote.

Three injured were taken to the hospital.

"The emergency services and emergency services are working on site." According to the Ukrainian civil protection service, a residential building was hit during the attack.

There are several injured, spokeswoman Switlana Wodolaga told the Hromadske television station.

According to preliminary information, six people were injured.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba wrote on Twitter of a "hateful act of barbarism".

Accordingly, Kyiv was fired at with cruise missiles.

"Russia has once again shown its attitude towards Ukraine, Europe and the world," Kuleba wrote.

"Rockets hit central Kyiv during António Guterres' official visit," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's adviser Mykhailo Podoliak said on Twitter.

"Yesterday he was still sitting at a long table in the Kremlin and today there were explosions above his head," he added, looking at the UN Secretary-General.

"Is that a greeting from Moscow?"

Guterres met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday.

He then traveled on to Ukraine, where on Thursday he first visited several suburbs of Kyiv, where Russian soldiers have committed war crimes, according to Ukrainian sources.

In the evening he appeared in front of the press together with Zelenskyj in Kyiv.
