Former Italian Prime Minister, Senator Matteo Renzi, renewed his call for the appointment of a European envoy to negotiate with Russia and hold a peace conference.
And RT quoted Renzi, the leader of the “Live Italy” party, who splintered from the Democratic Party, as calling him in today’s post to “choose former German Chancellor Angela Merkel or former British Prime Minister Tony Blair for this task,” noting that those who love Europe hope for a major political and diplomatic initiative to save Peace and save the planet.
"Whether by appointing a special envoy or by holding a peace conference, we need a political and diplomatic initiative on the part of Europe... We have said this since February 24, the day the Russian military operation began in Ukraine," Renzi said, noting that the majority of Europeans call for this.
