With the participation of a number of children and young people, the Directorate of Culture in Homs, in cooperation with the Development Foundation for the Environment, organized a celebration (we only own one land) on the occasion of World Environment Day, which falls on June 5 of each year, in the garden of the Arab Cultural Center in Homs.
The celebration, in which the volunteer teams (Life Skills), (Volunteer Youth) and (Development for the Environment) participated, included a number of artistic, theatrical and musical activities, where the participants carried out drawing workshops whose themes focused on preserving the environment.
The talented Jamal Ajeeb presented a variety of musical pieces on the keyboard instrument. The theater director, Samer Ibrahim, presented a storyteller and a theatrical performance on the environment, in addition to a cleaning campaign for the yard and garden of the Cultural Center, removal of fallen tree leaves, an awareness segment and advice to preserve the environment.
The head of the life skills team in Homs, Saba Wassouf, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that 25 children and adolescents were hosted with the aim of guiding them to preserve the environment through useful and entertaining activities and raising their awareness of the importance of sound environmental behaviors through meaningful and expressive stories.
The Executive Director of the Foundation for the Development of the Environment, Laila Al-Hajj Younes, provided tips and awareness tips to preserve the environment and the importance of recycling waste and benefiting from it in making useful things and artistic masterpieces, in addition to the need to sort waste and preserve the vegetation cover, noting the importance of artistic activities directed to attract and attract the young generation to be more concerned and aware of the environment .
