Miri Mesika performs "Omar Sharif" from the musical "The Visit of the Orchestra"/DonmarWarehouse
Twenty years since she burst into public consciousness and stood on stages in Israel and around the world, singer Miri Mesika is fulfilling another dream and for the first time collaborating with the Philharmonic Orchestra in a one-time concert on the occasion of International Women's Day. In a performance that will take place on March 8 at 13:30 at the Tel Aviv Hall of Culture, Mesika will sing her songs from all the albums with special symphonic arrangements, alongside the great songs of the world's greatest singers on whom she grew up, which she performs in a variety of styles and languages. The arrangements will be entrusted to Avner Kalmar, Rotem Nir will conduct and Uri Zach will be artistic director.
A month ago, Mesika released a duet with Keren Peles called "Two Gadot". The song, written and composed by Peles and musically produced by Uri Zach, Mesika's husband, is dedicated to designer Yonath Or, who was murdered in the massacre at Kibbutz Be'eri on October 7, and wrote that she is "an amazing woman, and Carmit's best friend, who is our best friend."
